A complete renovation was required to bring this home up to current lifestyle & code standards. From inception through completion, this project required hands on project management, including selection of all interior & exterior finishes, selection & oversight of all contractors & artisans. A full make over was required, without sacrificing the flavor of the original Philadelphia architects, Carroll, Grisdale, & Van Alen designed home. From a new Geothermal HVAC system & solar ready roof, down to the door mats and everything in between. Original concrete floors were buffed & polished, new concrete floors were added in the additions,(the work space & art studio, as well as the kitchen & bathrooms). All of the original Nakashima furniture, 24 pieces, were refinished by Nakashima Studios & used through out. With few exceptions, reuse & repurposing of existing furnishings were employed. Extensive changes were made to lighting to highlight the artwork of the Owner, his family, & collected artists. The exterior Bluestone hardscaping & landscaping were revamped. Currently under renovation is the existing pool house.
